About Us

There's a Dog on my Quilt

The Comfort Society is a registered society and part of Sunshine Coast Quilters Guild supporting the creation and distribution of quilts in the community — all members of our guild are members of the Comfort Society. Since its inception, the Comfort Society has provided hundreds of quilts to individuals and organizations on the coast and sometimes further afield. Some of the recipients include Sechelt Hospital (Maternity), Sunshine Coast Hospice, Christenson Village, Totem Lodge, Shorncliffe, Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, Sumac Place, as well as to community organizations for fundraising. As an example, in 2018, 396 donation quilts were made by big-hearted and talented quilters.

Come to our table at Resource Day to pick up batting for your donation quilt. Also, at meetings we set up a wide assortment of fabrics donated by members that you can use for your creation. From time to time, there are also kits available.

Your donation is finally finished when it has a label sewn on and a donation invoice filled in. Please pick them up at Resource Day or print them off below.
